Using two discounted products in lidlireland this week to make Chocolate Chip Cookies 🍪
Two things I will say about baking cookies are:
– cook very few at a time and make sure they’re spread out because they will melt and sprawl as they cook
– take them out before they look completely done because they’ll continue to cook out of the oven when you leave them to rest
Fun fact: baking is a science and is actually kinda hard so if it goes wrong do not feel disheartened
Method 👩🍳
1. Pre heat your oven to 180
2. Melt your butter in a bowl
3. Whisk together the sugars, salt and butter to get a smooth paste
4. Whisk in the egg and vanilla until strands of the mixture start to fall off the whisk but don’t sink immediately in to the mixture
5. Sift in the flour and baking powder (very necessary to use a sieve here so please do) and then gently fold the dry ingredients in to the wet mixture until smooth
6. With a knife, chop up your cadburyireland dairymilk chocolate in to small chunks and the fold them in to the mixture
7. Chill the dough in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, allowing the butter in your mix to harden again
8. Line your baking tray with some baking paper and scoop the dough out in to individual cookies. I’d recommend no more than 6 on a very big tray so if you’re not sure, go with 4
9. Bake for 12-15 minutes for each batch
10. Cool on a wire tray completely
If you want to reheat them later, a quick 35 seconds in the microwave should do the trick
